Welcome to the world, Evan James!
Evan = Fighter-Young Warrior-God is gracious / James = son of thunder
Truly, the name couldn’t have been more perfect for Evan James who arrived safe & sound, although a month early. For reasons unknown, he was growing small and the best decision by the O.B. was to have him “out” for closer and safer monitoring. This was truly one of the prayers answered. Michelle had expressed that this pregnancy was different than the rest yet her (and Evan) fought the good fight right down to the sweeter end! Hence, his name, Evan. Funny enough, his older siblings have longer (beautiful) names and because he came out smaller, his name serendipitously matched. And like a lightning bolt, he came out “by himself” (as the nurses put it) even before Michelle had a chance to push; so he’s definitely a “son of thunder” (in reference to James and John, Jesus’ disciples who were brothers).
Pregnancy is such a beautiful yet fragile phase in a couple’s life that must be cherished from the moment of conception. With all of the experiences that we had, we thought, “Oh, you meet someone, you get married and then you have babies.” Easy-peasy, right? For some, pregnancies may come easy (and that’s a blessing in itself). For others who have challenging ones, we salute you for your courage, strength and perseverance (emotionally and physically) through the heartaches, anxieties, the highs & lows of every appointment to whatever result becomes of Baby in the end. We keep all those who are expecting, in our prayers, all the time.
As for our Prayer Warriors (you know who you are!), we can’t thank you enough for your constant support! God does listen. God does answer. God is Life. God is Love.
“You created every part of me; you put me together in your mother’s womb.”
