Béatrice + Brendan ~ The Knot Is Tied!
This would be my third time travelling to Ottawa to shoot a wedding and I was stoked! I love the vibe of Ottawa. With its English-French bilingualism, and the water running in and around the city, it makes me feel like I’m in an official Canadian city. I’m so grateful to that Béatrice and Brendan had chosen me to capture their sacramental day.
Brendan had seen me in action at Joanna & Luigi’s wedding. Upon further inquiry with Béatrice through a wonderful video conference, we were all set for the date! As part of their love-story went, they were to be married at the place where it all started: the Notre Dame cathedral. This is where Béatrice had sung both as a soloist and choir member, while Brendan, a devout parishioner was captivated by this lark from his pew. And what a privilege to have Bishop Christian Riesbeck officiate the wedding!
They had organized for an intimate and memorable “first-look” just near the National Gallery of Canada. The stage was beautifully set, as there were vine-covered stairs and I watched as the beautiful bride took her time to see her groom. It was a jubilant reaction as Brendan turned around to see Béatrice, all ready in her wedding dress. This set the mood for the rest of the day.
Both families were so welcoming, I felt like I was a guest at the reception at the Fairmont Cháteau Laurier. After entertaining speeches, a scrumptious meal, the dance floor was non-stop action, even by the time I left.
I’m so grateful and blessed to have been given the opportunity to capture this wedding day for two faith-driven souls destined for eternity. Merci-thank you, Béatrice and Brendan! In JMJ.
Hope you enjoy these highlights of the day!
