R.G. + S.G ~ The Answer is “Yes!”
<cue Mission Impossible soundtrack…dun, dun…dun dun dun, dun…>
“Greetings Agent Dizon, we’ve been expecting you. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, involves simulating the photoshoot with the deemed-to-be-married couple, Rebekah and Stephan, for the first 10 minutes of the session where serenaders will wait for your cue to swarm in with Boyz II Men’s ‘I Do’. While Rebekah is distracted, Stephan will be slipped the engagement ring and be prepared to commit to Rebekah in marriage for the rest of their lives. This message will self-destruct in 3 seconds.”
Yup, that’s how it all went down at Union Station (Toronto) and I was totally honoured to be a part of it. Rebekah is one of my choir mates from the U of T Gospel Choir (UTGC) and one of the most talented humble singers I know. Because she shares audiences with her sweet voice, in return, she only deserves the best and she certainly got him. Stephan is a true gentleman whose romantic side only gives proof of his deep love for Rebekah. Heck, he set up this entire proposal (with the help of, now sis-in-law, Ruthy) by coordinating the singers and the mode of capturing the event with photography. And confidently with faith, everything worked out perfectly!
After the big surprise, it only brought out the natural smiles for the camera…who wouldn’t after a proposal like that?!?! We surely had fun reliving the minutes right before the big question was popped and how it was all orchestrated.
As we wish them many of God’s blessings, I hope you enjoy these pics of their Surprise Proposal Engagement Session!
P.S. And yes, I did watch “Mission Impossible 4: Ghost Protocol” and I thoroughly enjoyed it!
A personal touch of hiring other UTGC choir mates (Wayne, Oliver and Moses) to ensure that this mission would be accomplished.
