I was having nostalgic feelings on Mandana and Dan‘s wedding day, as we approached Ontario Place’s Atlantis banquet hall. It was my grade 12 prom since I was last there and it brought back a lot of fond memories of a great dinner, a couple of entertaining performances and of course, “dancing ’till it’s 1999” (hope that doesn’t date myself too far!). Let me tell you I had just as much fun on their wedding day.
From witnessing the vandalism of “Congratulations” in many different languages on Dan’s car, watching the groomsmen earn their pass for the groom to see his bride (as per the Chinese tradition), capturing tears of joy as Mandana and Dan had their “first look”, being enthralled by the dragons’ dance that followed them into the reception hall, listening to heartfelt words of each speech, experiencing the Iranian-teasing-dance of the cake knife ritual for the first time and of course, dancing like it’s 2013!!! What a great day to have started off the weddings for this year! And I feel so honoured to have been a part of it. Congratulations again, Mandana and Dan!
