I got to meet this wonderful couple, Kim & Kevin, from another wonderful couple, Alicia & Louie. I had photographed Alicia & Louie’s wedding and it was so kind of them to pass along the referral which didn’t have far to travel since Alicia and Kim worked together.
After our lunch meeting at Timmy’s, I felt like I reunited with a couple of ol’ friends from back-in-the-day, as we found common friends because we lived in the same ‘hood. Small world indeed! As such, I knew they would be very fun to photograph. They had decided to hold their engagement session at Toronto Pearson Airport – Terminal 3. What a creative and awesome idea! After getting the permit and agreeing on the day, we got to shoot freely amidst the “real” passengers checking in for their flights. This, however, was just a precursor for their destination wedding which was going to be in Jamaica the following year.
There’s a funny shot where a gentleman looked back at Kim & Kevin, all puzzled, wondering why they were just standing in the middle of the aisle, nose-to-nose. Haha!
Building upon the theme of travel and getting ready to go to a destination, Kim & Kevin were already flying their love for each other in all the montages I had them in. Although I didn’t get to join them at their wedding, I was able to celebrate it in an intimate pre-ceremony reception with their family and friends. Stay tuned!
