Kim and Kevin were all too thoughtful for the family and friends here “at home”, as they threw a preWedding reception just a few days before their destination wedding in Jamaica. In actuality, there were TWO receptions, both at the same venue: The Richmond. It was neat to see the transformation from the luncheon (which was for family) to the dinner (which was for close friends).
In each event, there were unique details that set them apart, yet spoke to Kim and Kevin’s personalities. The luncheon had exquisite food and long tables were set for everyone to feel cozy and have great conversations. It’s here were very powerful and sentimental speeches poured out and encouraged Kim and Kevin in their journey as husband and wife. The evening reception cleared away all the tables to create a loungy, schmoozey atmosphere where friends could reconnect, enjoy the chicken & waffles!!! and sweets.
Treating this quite like a wedding day, we did a portrait session in between events and walked down “graffiti alley”. It was one of the most unique and personalized backgrounds (since Kevin had been a rapper-MC for a group named the “Asiatics” back-in-the-day). I just loved how the artistic walls contrasted the sharp and elegant clothes they were both wearing. I couldn’t have been more happy to capture the love these two were showing!
Hope you enjoy these highlights!
